ACORN NUTS OR CAP NUTS 
Acorn nuts, also called cap nuts, are blind tapped hex nuts with acorn-shaped tops. They provide sealing for projecting thread parts.
Acorn nuts feature a crown, or dome, covering. They are chosen for safety reasons, to cover protruding threaded mating parts, and for decorative enhancement. Our cap nuts are manufactured in two pieces, a hex cap nut base and an acorn-shaped top, and zinc die cast to form the finished part. InStock Fasteners' acorn nuts may be plain or nickel-plated.
