Pre-Threaded Rods are fastening bars or rods threaded along their length. Thread direction may be right hand, left hand, or both right hand and left hand, but right hand threaded rod is by far the most common. Right hand threads are configured so that clockwise rotation tightens the threaded rod to a fastener. When thread direction is not specified, threaded rod default direction is usually to the right.
InStock Fasteners' threaded rod is produced from cold-rolled steel. Rolled threads offer increased strength, uniform accuracy and a higher degree of surface finish than machine-cut threads, in addition to being lower cost.
Pre-threaded rod can be used with standard nuts and washers (sold separately), and may be used in standard stock lengths or cut by customer to the length required. These pre threaded bars may be cut to length with a metal cutting hacksaw or power band saw. Depending on the saw blade used, only minimal burr removal may be required from rough cut ends.
